Mycah Brown is a 23-year-old creative storyteller with deep roots in Laurel, MD, and a birth story that begins in Atlanta, GA. Her journey is a dynamic blend of artistic passion, relentless ambition and a commitment to storytelling, shaping her into the artist, journalist and visionary she is today.

Growing up in the DMV, Mycah was naturally drawn to performance, writing and music. Her passion for storytelling led her to explore multiple creative avenues, from journalism to filmmaking to music. As a proud graduate of Florida A&M University (FAMU), she has already made significant strides in each of these fields, proving herself as a multifaceted creative force.

With an unstoppable drive and a love for all things creative, Mycah is building a platform that fuses media, music and culture in a way that feels fresh, intentional and deeply personal. Whether she’s lighting up the stage, working behind the camera or diving into music and journalism, Mycah is committed to sharing stories that resonate and leave a lasting impact.

Mycah’s media career began at Florida A&M University (FAMU), where she created and hosted Off the Record, a podcast highlighting local and student music artists. Her storytelling expertise extends to documentary filmmaking (Roll 'n Soul) and journalism, with over 60 published articles in outlets like the Tallahassee Democrat. She has also conducted exclusive interviews with notable figures such as Troy Taylor and Omarion.

At Beyond the Myc, Mycah is dedicated to documenting, dissecting, and celebrating the voices that shape music and culture. Through her work, she is redefining what it means to be a music journalist, cultural commentator and storyteller in the digital age.

Mycah’s passion for music began in fourth grade when she started writing poetry, unknowingly crafting the lyrics that would later shape her artistry. As she grew, so did her love for songwriting, eventually leading to her first official release, Catch A Vibe.

The COVID-19 lockdown became a pivotal moment in Mycah’s journey. Surrounded by a close circle of creatives, including producers Antmann and JahMeal Beats, she was immersed in an environment that fueled her artistry. With makeshift dorm studios just a few doors down, music became a constant part of her life, pushing her to experiment, refine her style and step into her identity as an artist.

Her debut EP, Metamorphosis, is a reflection of those formative years, capturing the evolution of her sound and the experiences that shaped her. The project, released after graduation, serves as both a closing chapter and the beginning of something greater, laying the foundation for her place in R&B.

With over a decade of stage experience as a lead actress, Mycah brings a performance-driven approach to her music, blending lyrical depth with expressive storytelling.
