The wait is finally over and we are back with another episode of “Off the Record!” Episode 7 hosted by Mycah Brown features rising Florida star, Choppp! Join us as he takes us through the past few life-changing years of his life and see what the future holds for him in this episode.
As Black History Month soon comes to a close, we wanted to use episode 7 of “Off the Record” to highlight FAMU creatives who commemorate the historical figures that came before us. Gerron Lewis is the creator of the Soulful Chi coloring book, which teaches us about some of the legendary people in black history.
For episode 4, Mycah Brown returns as our host, and this time we had the opportunity to talk with FAMU’s Very Own Antmann & Lucid Luunar. AntMann is no stranger to the Tallahassee music scene, as he’s made many connections with different artists since his freshman year on the Hill. But Luunar says, after coming from Atlanta, finding musicians in the area was like finding ‘a needle in a haystack.’
Episode 3 is hosted by Mycah Brown and follows Kanise, a local R&B singer, from her start in the music world to some of her more recent successes, “creating Tallahassee vs. the World” and becoming a leader and recognizable face within the local artistic community. Her love for music began after watching her mom as a producer in the behind-the-scenes aspect of the business soon grew into her love for song-writing.
Episode one features FAMU student artist, Samo, a third-year business administration student and rapper from Chicago, Illinois. After leaving his hometown, Samo needed to find an outlet to express all the lessons he'd learned so far in his "First Semester of Life." Although everything isn't always "Black & White," he was able to use music as a way to cope with all the experiences life has thrown his way thus far.
